As we’ve outlined previously here on our franchise website, the primary idea behind a Franchise Discovery Day is to introduce our support team and founders to the most qualified and motivated franchise candidates. We’ve completed a number of these events and believe we’ve created an agenda that is a great combination of information, education, experience and potential partner collaboration. We want to make sure we use the time to find and align with franchisees who understand what “the Shack” lifestyle and experience is about, and who will be responsive to their local communities.
When we originally conceived the Shuckin’ Shack Franchise Discovery Day, we set a limit that our team would only invite five different candidate teams each time. Over the past five years, we’ve held Discovery Days with varied attendance, but this week we are preparing for our largest. This week we will be welcoming potential franchise partners from the following states:
At this point in the franchise awards process, we are not at liberty to share specific markets these candidates have an interest in, but we are excited by the prospect of our biggest Discovery Day to date! It’s also important to note that only about 50% of Discovery Day attendees are offered a franchise opportunity with the Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar. Partnerships between franchisors and franchisees are long term and complex, and finding the right partner for each target market is of the utmost importance for our continued, and combined, long-term success.
One of our target markets for 2019 is Columbia, South Carolina. This near-by market with over 800,000 people seems ideally suited for a Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar, or two!
