As the Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar restaurant franchise grows each year, our responsibilities to our franchisees increase accordingly. Credible franchise companies are responsible for optimizing their business systems, improving profit margins, exploring new products and keeping franchisees informed of important changes. One of the many ways we communicate with our growing base of franchisee partners is to meet face-to-face, with an annual conference.
For 2019, our annual conference was held last week at a variety of locations in and around Wilmington, NC. We kicked things off by returning to our roots, Carolina Beach - where we were founded in 2007, and completed a beach cleanup to remind our partners that one of our core tenets is Sustainability. Environmental protection of our oceans and waterways goes hand-in-hand with the beach lifestyle that customers of The Shack experience every single day.
Once we returned from the beach, we helped our franchisees and restaurant managers learn about new initiatives that will help them with local marketing results, we introduced new potential food vendors and we concluded with training on how to roll out the new 2019 Shuckin’ Shack menu within their restaurants as well. As you’ll notice in the photos below, no suits, no ties, not even uncomfortable shoes! When asked about the two-day event Shuckin’ Shack Franchising CEO, Jonathan Weathington, said the following:
To have nearly 40 people attend, when we have 16 locations open, tells me that we have franchisees and restaurant managers who are proactive in growing their businesses, open to learning new systems and genuinely appreciative of the work that’s being done to help improve their restaurants each day.

Currently our franchise development team is very focused on finding a strong franchise partner for the Columbia, SC market! If you know of someone who might be ideal for a fresh new seafood restaurant and sports pub business that was founded in North Carolina 12 years ago, please share this special page!
