Jonathan Weathington - CEO
Jonathan joined Shuckin' Shack in an official capacity in 2014 at the outset of franchising. Initially hired as VP of Franchise Development, he was promoted to CEO in November of 2014. Prior to working for Shuckin' Shack, Jonathan helped build the second Shuckin' Shack in Historic Wilmington NC, and spent 14 years in the service and retail industry with companies such as VF and BB&T. He holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in International Relations. At home, Jonathan enjoys spending time outdoors and hanging with his wife and two cats - Frank and Etta.
Mario Piccinin - Vice President of Franchise Development
Mario has extensive experience in the seafood business. Following a 10 year period managing StarKist Seafood’s quality program, he worked closely with American Shrimpers and has been responsible for the development and implementation quality standards for Wild American Shrimp. Mario has also worked with Barefoot Contessa developing a line of frozen meals based on her recipes.
Most importantly, he is Matt’s dad and has helped in the construction of the original location in Carolina Beach as well as the downtown Wilmington location. He enjoys talking with people and helping them realize their dreams. He is excited about the opportunity SS provides to ambitious entrepreneurs. He especially enjoys spending time with his 5 grandchildren.
Mario’s hobbies include building street rod by restoring and customizing Fords from the 1932 to 1950 era. He likes driving around the island in his 1932 Ford roadster.
Matt Piccinin - Co Founder
Born and raised in Canada, Co-Founder Matt Piccinin grew up vacationing in Carolina Beach, NC. After moving to the states, he eventually settled in Carolina Beach and completed his B.A. in Business and Marketing at the University of NC Wilmington. Matt started his career in construction but soon realized his dream of opening his own business. He, along with Co-founder Sean Cook, opened the first Shuckin’ Shack location in the fall of 2007. After spending several years learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business, the two opened a second location in the fall of 2011 and began Shuckin’ Shack Franchising in spring 2014. Matt resides in Carolina Beach with his wife, LeeAnn, and 2 children. In his spare time, Matt enjoys fishing, surfing, and golfing.
Wendy Koonce - Brand Manager
Wendy became a part of the Shuckin' Shack family in October of 2014 as the Director of Marketing and Brand Manager. Prior to working for Shuckin' Shack, Wendy spent 10 years marketing and developing brand recognition in the real estate industry for new home builders. She holds a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications in Marketing and is currently working toward her CMP (Certified Marketing Professional). At home, Wendy's loves relaxing on the boat, playing beach volleyball with friends, and spending time with family, including her husband Brad, her son Bryson, and her goldendoodle Murphy.
Bill Bartlett - Chief Operations Officer
Bill came on board with Shuckin Shack May of 2018. He has gathered a world of hospitality experience opening over 150 restaurants around the globe and has been a leader over the past 20 years for a number of world class operations.

When not working you can most likely find BB and his family at the beach or on a golf course - somewhere simply having fun.
Barry Garrison - VP of Operations
Barry joined the Shuckin’ Shack team in July of 2018 in a dual role of General Manager for the Historic Wilmington location and Director of Training. Barry brings a world of knowledge from brands such as Ruth’s Chris, Cheesecake Factory, and Tavistock. In June 2019, Barry was promoted to VP of Operations with a focus in training and development. In his spare time, Barry enjoys anything involving golf and considers himself a world-renowned bacon expert.
